Conceived in 2010, the NTFAs were established to recognise, celebrate, and honour theatre practitioners, filmmakers, and contributors within Namibia’s creative and cultural sector.

Visionary works and outstanding contributions are venerated on a biennial basis, promoting local practitioners to produce more work and to position Namibia’s creative sector beyond national borders.
